The Finance Department is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Accounting Services Division. This role is well suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, can handle multiple tasks at once, and maintain accuracy and attention to details while still ensuring deadlines are met.

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Services, the Accounts Payable Clerk performs the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time. Responsibilities include processing invoices electronically, verifying account coding, authorizations and pricing, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accounts payable records and controls. The role also involves generating vendor payments, reconciling accounts, supporting year-end processes, maintaining filing systems, and assisting with general administrative tasks within the Finance Department.

Requirements

Requirements include Post-secondary courses in accounting and office procedures, along with a minimum of two years of experience in a clerical or administrative role involving financial transactions, data entry and word processing. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with computer-based applications, including spreadsheets and word processing software. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 28 hours per week, with a start time of 8:00 a.m. Monday through Wednesday will be the primary working days. Salary & Benefits
