2 temporary positions. Up to 10 Months in duration. Full time hours.

This entry level role is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team of professionals! Reporting directly to the Field Operations Supervisor, you assist in the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of the water and wastewater infrastructure. The Water & Sewer System Operator will assist in locating, diagnosing and repairing system faults.

Our ideal candidate

  • You will have strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and passion to serve our residents.
  • Will have flexibility to work in a physically demanding role, including working in all weather conditions, evenings, weekend and call outs.
  • Has some knowledge of the current practices, materials, equipment and methods used in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.

This position has also been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted AEP Water Distribution Level 1 or higher, and Wastewater Collection Level 1 or higher, Operation Certificates.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta Class 3 license with air brakes, and a satisfactory driving record.
