Our Public Works Division is looking for a dedicated and safety-minded individual to join our Solid Waste Services team for the annual Leaf Collection Program. As a Leaf Truck Operator, you will be responsible for the safe operation and basic maintenance of tandem axle leaf collection trucks. You will work as part of a small crew alongside labourers and traffic control personnel to collect leaves from streets throughout the District. Duties also include dumping collected leaves at designated sites, providing courteous customer service by educating residents on proper leaf placement, and assisting with traffic control or vacuum hose operation when required.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement, and one year of related experience. Candidates must be able to demonstrate safe operation and basic maintenance of commercial vehicles or leaf collection equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday from 6:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., from October 20, 2025 to January 16, 2026. Only those under consideration will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits
