Description
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing asset management strategies and processes for the Water Utility. You will manage 'at risk' Water Utility assets, including inspection programs, performance assessments, risk management, investment prioritization, quality assurance reviews, and providing data to internal and external parties. Primary duties include:
• Create and maintain an 'at risk' asset register for the Water Utility's aging assets, including oversight of rehabilitation and intervention programs required to mitigate risk.
• Develop and maintain the Water Utility's technical and strategic asset management plans.
• Ensure completion of annual detailed engineering inspections and asset performance assessment programs.
• Provide functional supervision, guidance, and training to Water Utility engineers with respect to data gathering, research, and investigation.
• Collaborate with other experts within the Water Utility to ensure progress and continual improvement of the Water Asset Management program.
• Collaborate with other partners to recommend annual investment priorities for Water Utility assets.
• Monitor for the short- and long-term progress of the Water Utility's Asset Management program and take action to ensure management and organizational objectives are being met.
• Research and implement relevant best practices in the fields of asset condition assessment, root cause failure analysis, and reliability centered maintenance practices.

Requirements

• A degree in Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. • At least 2 years of experience managing a water utility asset management program is required.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) and access to a personal vehicle for business use is required.
• A strong understanding of water and wastewater civil engineering and working knowledge of municipal and/or utility asset management are essential.
• Success in this position requires strong strategic and critical thinking, excellent problem solving and planning, and the ability to communicate effectively on technical, operational, and business issues to multiple audiences.

Salary & Benefits

Engineer Level F $106,174 – 162,616
