Description
The Town of Bonnyville is seeking an individual to work within a team-oriented organization to undertake
the role of Head Lifeguard. This is a full time employment position reporting to the Pool Supervisor or his
designate as indicated by the Director of Recreation.
The position of Head Lifeguard will be responsible for all aspects of lifeguarding including but not
exclusive to enforcement of all rules and regulations governing the use of the pool, pool deck supervision,
lesson instruction, staff training and staff supervision, reporting of pooi incidents, water testing, pump
checks and pool maintenance: as well as other assigned duties as required.

Requirements
Qualifications required for Head Lifeguard:
• Pool Operator Level 1
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
• National Lifeguard or Red Cross Lifeguard
• Standard First Aid with CPR “C”
• WHMIS
• Lifesaving Instructor
• Must possess good customer service skills
• Must be a minimum 18 years of age with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience and
at least two (2) of the following:
• Lifesaving Instructor Trainer
• National Lifeguard Service Instructor or Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
• Water Safety Instructor Trainer
• First Aid Instructor
• Water Art or Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification
• Pool Operator Level 2
Salary & Benefits
The wage for this position will be based on the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees Collective
Agreement.
