Tax registration procedures have changed considerably in the past few years, due to

  • amendments to the Municipal Act
  • new Regulations
  • the COVID-19 state of emergency

In this webinar we will outline the steps involved in a tax registration, from the very beginning, until the expiry of the one-year period**.  We will look at changes, including

  • new parties that need to be sent notices
  • new forms
  • extension agreements that do not have to be passed as a by-law
  • expedited sale of forfeited properties
  • procedures that were frozen as a result of the state of emergency

**We will look at changes to the actual sale of properties at a future webinar.
