Description
The annual National Trust Conference (in association with the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals) is Canada’s largest heritage conservation event for professionals, practitioners, government officials, and volunteers engaged in regenerating and saving historic places.

WHY TO ATTEND?
We will explore the catalytic power of historic places and how they are essential to building vibrant and diverse communities, and sustainable economies.

The conference will blend high-impact plenaries, with multiple concurrent session streams, workshops, and skill-building field sessions and explore the design, social, and economic impact of heritage.

There will also be a special multi-day meeting exploring the preservation of Indigenous Residential Schools and grave sites.

Jim Lindberg – Discover pathbreaking research on the connection between historic places and a range of positive economic, social, and environmental outcomes with the VP of Research & Policy at the US National Trust for Historic Preservation’s

Yu Ka-Sing – Join the University of Hong Kong architect/academic deeply involved in the UNESCO prize-winning Blue House project, and learn how working class shophouse buildings and sustained their living heritage were saved.

Linda Monckton – Be inspired by heritage contributions to health and social cohesion with the Head of the Wellbeing and Inclusion Strategy at Historic England.
