Reporting to the Director of Bylaw and Security, the Supervisor of Corporate Security is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the Corporate Security Program. The Supervisor of Corporate Security responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The implementation and operation of a Corporate CCTV system;
  • The standardization and implementation of security protocols, procedures and policies throughout the corporation;
  • The consolidation of and proper maintenance of all security and surveillance licenses, equipment, and data storage, including alarm systems, CCTV equipment, and associated software licensing;
  • Providing 24/7 support, guidance, leadership and management to security services providers, including butnot limited to third-party Guard Services and third party intrusion monitoring service providers;
  • Planning, organizing and directing all Security Services activities across the Corporation;
  • Reviewing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the security contractor(s) to ensure proper compliance to the contract and excellent customer service to City departments;
  • Developing and providing enhanced security training for staff on security systems and crime prevention strategies;
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a diploma/degree in Law and Security Administration, Physical/Electronic Security, or equivalent combination of post-secondary education, training and experience.
  • Five (5) years of progressive security, security technician, and/or facility management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with Management and staff, internal alliances/partnerships; to foster amicable relationships with employee groups; to align departmental programs and services with corporate goals and objectives and to champion the mission and values of the City.
  • Ability to effectively deal with vendors, tenants, consultants, contractors, City departments, law enforcement, and the general public to establish cooperative working relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear, concise and complete council reports and deliver presentations.
  • Experience with installation and maintenance of the following Facility Management and Security technologies would be an asset: Card access control systems (Lenel, AMAG, Kantech), Intrusion systems; (DSC, Alarm.com, Bosch), CCTV and video management systems (Avigilon, Genetec, Pelco, Salient), Security and incident management systems
  • Violent and Threat Intervention Training and Incident Management System training considered are considered an asset.
  • Manufacturer certifications (Kantech, DSC, Lenel, Pelco, Avigilon, AMAG) considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of smart building technologies and IoT (Internet of Things) would be an asset.
  • Valid Class G driver s license in good standing during the course of employment.
Salary & Benefits

WAGE/SALARY RANGE: $43.21 to $54.01 (35 hours per week) plus benefits.
