Description
The Town of Osoyoos is seeking an individual motivated to assist the Town’s Planning and Development Services Department with a wide range of projects and planning priorities. The Planning Technician will help facilitate the public engagement process to promote, explore, and development opportunities for the community. The Planning Technician will work cooperatively with diverse workgroups in the organization and can establish and maintain effective relationships with Council, Committees, and outside agencies. 

The Planning Technician will provide planning services across a range of areas such as affordable housing, capital projects, climate action planning, downtown revitalization, landscaping improvements, etc. The Planning Technician will also accept, review and process applications for development variances, and minor development permits. 

Requirements

The preferred candidate will have an undergraduate degree in the field of Community Planning or a closely related program of studies, OR a diploma in the field of Community Planning and over 6 months of practical experience.  The preferred candidate will have knowledge of the Community Charter, Local Government Act, and other provincial policies in respect of planning matters.

Salary & Benefits

This is position is a full-time unionized position that is 35 hours/week. The hourly rate is $33.86 - $37.62 per hour, plus an attractive benefits package.
