HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR

One Year Term

$39.08 to $43.96 / hour

The Town of High River is seeking a Human Resources Advisor to join our HR team.  The Town offers a positive, friendly and healthy work environment where each employee’s contributions make a difference.  High River is a people first community that is a great place to live, work, and play; and these values are instilled in our community and throughout our organization.  The Human Resources Advisor position is a one year term position, and will provide coverage to a maternity leave, with a target start date of February 2018, with term ending in March 2019.  There may be a possibility of an extension in this position.  

This senior human resources position reports to and supports the Manager of Human Resources in the development of strategies and implementation of programs and services designed to enhance and support individual employee contributions and optimize organizational performance.  We are seeking an individual who will provide guidance, support and knowledge in all aspects of human resources management.  The Town strives to provide a culture that’s open, welcoming, supportive, and respectful; and building relationships using a collaborative approach to meet objectives is important in this generalist role. To prepare for this position, you have completed post secondary education in Human Resources (diploma or degree) and have three to five years of intermediate level, HR generalist experience.  Experience working in the public sector is considered an asset.  Ideally, you have one to two years’ of experience with supervision and leadership.  A CHRP designation, or a candidate who is working towards achieving the designation is preferred.  Your demonstrated collaborative approach, analytical thinking, proven ability to develop and maintain trust and confidentiality, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills will ensure your success in this position.  Your experience in a unionized and non-unionized environment will be evident in your ability to advise and assist employees and management in areas of employee and labour relations.

Requirements
