Description

Manager of Protective Services

The Position: The Town of High River is looking for the right leader to join our Team as the Manager of Protective Services for the Town. This position actively engages in the supervision and management of all departments involved in the protection of the Town of High River and its residents; including By-law Enforcement, Fire Department, RCMP and Emergency Management. It is the responsibility of the Manager of Protective Services to maintain clear guidelines and constant communication with all protective service departments. The manager is expected to assist all protective service departments as necessary to ensure staffing levels are always maintained to guarantee residents safety. The Manager of Protective Services will be appointed by Council as the Director of Emergency Management. The manager will act as a liaison between the RCMP and Ambulance Service.
 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in Emergency and Protective Service management and related project management
  • Grade 12 or GED; some post-secondary in a related discipline preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License
    Additional Desired Skills or Qualifications:
  • Incident Command System (ICS) Certification; level 400 certificate preferred
  • Basic Emergency Management training (BEM) certificate
  • Emergency Operations Center Management (EOC) certificate
  • Emergency Public Warning System (EPWS) certificate
  • Proven experience in team building, leadership and supervision with a commitment for continuous improvement
  • Proven skills in organization, problem solving and decision making
  • Superior communication, interpersonal, team leadership and mediation skills

 
Salary & Benefits

Salary: $72,900 - $97,200

We offer competitive compensation and benefits that includes a pension plan, a flexible spending account, as well as extended health and dental coverage.
