Description

Maintenance Foreman
Environmental Services Department

Position Type/ Hours: This is a permanent full-time position working forty (40) hours per week.

Position Description: Under general supervision, maintain infrastructure consistent with engineering industry standards and Provincial legislation. Assist with daily operations, direct staff in installation, fabrication, repair and maintenance of Municipal facilities and equipment. Provide technical assistance, inspect the work of staff and contractors and coordinate service delivery with internal and external clients.


 

Requirements

  • Grade twelve or GED equivalent.
  • A Journeyman Trade Certificate or a two (2) year Technical related diploma are job minimums or an equivalent combination of directly related post secondary course work in a related field may be considered.
  • Minimum four (4) years supervisory experience and demonstrated experience accurately estimating labour and material costs, maintain records, preparing budgets and technical reports, along with a sound working knowledge of Water and Sewer Treatment Systems, mechanical, electrical, instrumental and structural equipment contained in and related to Municipal owned facilities.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in the operation of personal computers, Central Maintenance Management System and related software is required.
  • Valid class five (5) Alberta drivers’ license (clear driving record an asset).
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
  • Proven analytical, leadership, planning, communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to work outdoors, in all weather conditions and in an unsanitary environment.
  • Must be medically and physically fit to perform of the duties of the job daily.
  • Immunizations strongly recommended.

 
Salary & Benefits

PL 21*

$46.16 (Probationary Rate)
$50.68 – $54.42 (Permanent Rates)
*Rates adjusted to reflect market conditions*
