Description

This is a permanent full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.

Provide general supervision of the Community Services to include responsibilities and accountabilities for:
• Providing on-going vision for the development of all relative aspects of Community Services mandate.
• Supervision of programming initiatives related to Recreation, Culture, Cemeteries and the

  • CSS components.
    • Supervision of all resources required to maintain and operate these Community Services functions and facilities.
    • Supervision of all Community Services sponsored events.
    • Examination of alternate methods of delivering best value.
    • Development and management of operational and capital budgets related to this work function.
    • Provide evaluation criteria for all branch activities and staff performance.
    • Short & Long term planning of the related activities within the portfolio.
    • Development of annual and three-year operational and five-year capital plans consistent with Strategic Plans.
  • acilitation and coordination of developing Departmental, Organizational and Regional Plans.
    • Participation in projects/committees that are related to corporate and community goals and objectives.
    • Development of plans based on analyzing community needs.
    • Consultation and liaison with public, community groups and stakeholders.
    • Ensuring that the service standard, quality measure of community needs, demands is established implemented and monitored.
    • Collaboration with internal and external resources to achieve optimum service levels.

 
Requirements

  • Successful completion from a Bachelor’s degree in the study of Business, Recreation or Social Sciences with five (5) years experience, two (2) of which are supervisory.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Membership in relevant professional association (ARPA, FCSS etc.) preferred.
  • Planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Leadership, supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A valid Class five (5) Alberta Driver’s License is required.
  • Project management expertise and experience.

 
Salary & Benefits

CL 11

$99,223 - $126,758 (starting range)
