Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Strategic Initiatives, key responsibilities of this position include:
- Taking a lead role in the organization’s long-term strategic planning, corporate policy development and corporate performance monitoring
- Conducting environmental scans and research into emerging issues
- Reviewing and advising on major initiatives and measures undertaken by other levels of government or the private sector where the interests of the municipality are or may be affected
- Conducting research and analysis on issues relating to all aspects of municipal government, developing options, providing advice or making recommendations based upon the research.

| Requirements |
|
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and capabilities:
- University degree (3 years) in public administration, political science or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in public administration, preferably within the public sector.
- Knowledge of the theory and principles of policy development and the associated planning, research, analysis, consultation, change management,relationship management and evaluation methodologies and strategies.
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of teamwork, communication, project management, problem solving and planning/priority setting are an asset.

Starting salary rate: $60,976 minimum to $76,220 job rate per annum
|
