Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Strategic Initiatives, key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Taking a lead role in the organization’s long-term strategic planning, corporate policy development and corporate performance monitoring

  • Conducting environmental scans and research into emerging issues

  • Reviewing and advising on major initiatives and measures undertaken by other levels of government or the private sector where the interests of the municipality are or may be affected

  • Conducting research and analysis on issues relating to all aspects of municipal government, developing options, providing advice or making recommendations based upon the research.

 
Requirements

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and capabilities:

  • University degree (3 years) in public administration, political science or related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in public administration, preferably within the public sector.

  • Knowledge of the theory and principles of policy development and the associated planning, research, analysis, consultation, change management,relationship management and evaluation methodologies and strategies.

  • Demonstrated skills in the areas of teamwork, communication, project management, problem solving and planning/priority setting are an asset.

 
Salary & Benefits

Starting salary rate: $60,976 minimum to $76,220 job rate per annum
