Description:
This temporary position is for approximately 2 years.
Are you interested in creating performance measurement tools, extracting data from HRIS systems, conducting research, and preparing statistical reports to enhance Human Resource service delivery? This is a developmental opportunity to enhance and refine your data analysis and reporting skills. As a part of the Talent Management and Organizational Development Section, Human Resources Branch, you will learn from experienced consultants and report to the Director. Key responsibilities include:
•Producing HR informational reports
•Creating and updating internal labour forecasts at the job family, branch, department, and corporate levels that will be used to develop recruitment plans
•Conducting confidential research to support labour negotiations and the HR strategy
•Conducting extensive external research and external benchmarking
•Developing a strong network of key external HR data sources (Stats Canada, Alberta Human Resources Employment, Conference Board of Canada, etc.)
•Reviewing existing HR data collection processes and data relationships to identify deficiencies and improvement opportunities to increase accuracy of data and effectiveness of information reporting and data analysis
•Creating a directory of all HR information flow and a dictionary of common definitions for HR terms and data fields
•Leading the evaluation of potential technology improvements that would allow for more streamlined HR data collection, and design business cases accordingly
•Summarizing raw data into statistics that can be presented to senior managers, internal and external audiences, and used to drive HR strategy
•Collaborating in data analysis and trend identification
•Using HR statistics to report on key performance measures, by service area, and by HR program
•Compiling HR cost by service function and reporting to clients

| Requirements |
|
•University degree in Commerce with a major in Management Science or Management Information Systems, or other related degree including Mathematics or Statistics
•Experience in statistical analysis, information reporting, and turning complex data into clear meaningful reports
•Experience with Peoplesoft, Taleo, (or similar HRIS system) and other relational information databases
•Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, queries, graphs, and V lookup
•Strong query writing skills is an asset
•Ability to run queries and create meaningful reports based on client needs.
•Strong data presentation skills
•Proven track record in project management and delivering results on time
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
•Ability to diagnose system problems related to data collection and data retrieval through research and discussion with users
•Work collaboratively with external agencies and organizations
•Experience with SPSS and Publisher is an asset

|

Hours of Work: 36.9 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.
Salary Range: $41,828.72 - $58,577.80 (Annually).
