The Ontario Municipal Leadership Institute (OMLI) and WSCS Consulting Inc., are pleased to announce the launch of a new Lean Six Sigma "Boot Camp" specially designed and developed for government and public sector agencies and organizations.

"Customization of this highly interactive five-day MuniBelt Lean Six Sigma program was developed to address the challenges associated with the significant fiscal pressures within the public sector - namely budget reductions, downsizing pressures, re-prioritization of projects and elimination of various services," said Angela Gravelle, Executive Director of the Ontario Municipal Leadership Institute.

The program is based on Lean methodology which relies on collaboration to improve an organization's overall performance by; systematically removing waste, creating efficiencies, reducing costs and improving services. The program also includes a Kaizen event, where participants are required to profile a specific project from their organization and apply the knowledge and skills learned to realize process improvements and cost savings," Gravelle said.

Black Belt and Master in Lean Six Sigma, Tammy Carruthers, WSCS Consulting noted, "By using the improvement methods of Lean Six Sigma, we're making government and public sector organizations services; simpler, faster, better and less costly." "We're working with public sector clients to shift the mindset, cut the red tape and reduce overall costs," said Carruthers.

Organizations can book the Lean Six Sigma MuniBelt Boot Camp training onsite at a location of their choice for groups of 12 - 15 employees, or alternatively register individuals or smaller groups in an open seat Boot Camp that will take place the weeks of May 1 - 5, or May 29 - June 1, in Barrie, ON.

OMLI also provides introductory Lean Six Sigma webinars and one-day workshops, as well as certifications in Yellow, Green and Black Belts.
