Description
This webinar will provide participants with an important understanding of TAC’s National Guidelines for Work Zone Safety in Canada (2016). Topics will include standard definition of common work zone design elements and understanding of safety concepts associated with work zones; transportation management planning; work zone road safety audits; modifications to typical temporary traffic control (TTC) plans and TTC plans for urban areas (specifically pedestrian and cycling facilities).

Presenters

Jeannette Montufar, Founding Partner, MORR Transportation Consulting
Dr. Montufar’s areas of professional expertise include pedestrian safety and freight transportation. She is a member of TAC's Traffic Operations and Management Standing Committee and Road Safety Committee, and a member of the Institution of Transportation Engineers, the Transportation Research Board, and the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. Dr. Montufar has received over 20 national and international awards for her contributions to the engineering profession and was recently inducted into the Canadian Academy of Engineering. She was also Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba for 14 years before deciding to focus on her consulting practice.

Keenan Patmore, Transportation Engineer, MORR Transportation Consulting
Mr. Patmore has five years of experience in a wide variety of transportation planning and engineering projects. He has completed numerous projects addressing rural and urban traffic flow analysis, active transportation, road safety, and temporary traffic management planning.
