Your responsibilities will include participating in the development and review of policies, procedures, standards, plans and programs affecting water construction and the maintenance functions. You will prepare weekly work schedules for construction activities and participate in the development of the annual Water construction budget and programs and that the overall budget for the Water Section is efficiently administered and controlled. You will provide direction, advice and information to contractors and developers on matters relating to City water construction and maintenance projects and programs and ensure that projects are efficiently scheduled and coordinated.
You have a thorough knowledge of Labour and WCB regulations; engineering principles and practices; Surrey policies, procedures and standards and relevant computer office applications. You will be able to establish an effective liaison with City officials and members of Council and Committees as well as establish effective working relationships with staff, management, union, and the public.
You have an undergraduate degree or Diploma of Technology from a recognized university or equivalent training and/or experience and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management experience including experience at a management level in a public environment and water utility experience is required. A valid B.C. driver’s license with a clean driving history is required.
