Description
The City of New Westminster has openings for auxiliary Dog License Canvassers for the months of June to August, with a possibility of extension. Reporting to the Coordinator, Parking and Animal Services, this position will be responsible for selling dog licenses to the City of New Westminster residents, canvassing routes, providing bylaw information to dog owners and recording related information. Please note that this position is required to work in all weather conditions.

 

Requirements

• Completion of Grade 12 plus experience in customer service and in working with the public, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Sound knowledge of the dog licensing fee schedules.
• Some knowledge of the dog licensing bylaw and related regulations.
• Ability to deal courteously with the public and provide information and responses to questions.
• Ability to prepare simple records and receipts, to make simple mathematical calculations and to handle cash.
• Ability to walk long distances and work outside in any type of weather conditions.
• Must successfully pass and maintain a police and criminal record check.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License for the Province of British Columbia.
