Description
Reporting to the Director of Public Works, this position is responsible managing the 5 divisions that comprise the Public Works department. The incumbent will provide technical expertise and practical knowledge in making decisions for the department, ensures that operations and maintenance programs are executed by managing and coordinating a staff of approximately 50 employees or more.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
 University or technical school education in Civil Construction, Civil Engineering or equivalent
 5 or more years experience in a Public Works Department (Northern experience is preferred)
 3-5 years experience managing staff of above 25 employees
 Excellent human resource management, leadership, administrative and organizational skills
 Excellent communication and presentation skills
 Experience in a public works setting
 Must possess strong organizational and management skills
 Must understand computer systems skills
 The ability to speak Inuktitut is preferred

Assets
 Ability to plan, coordinate and prioritize several projects simultaneously
 Ability to prepare detailed progress reports
 Calculate manpower and equipment costs for City projects

Salary & Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $98,304.02, an annual Settlement Allowance of $22,378.31 and an excellent benefits package. Housing may be provided with position (Settlement Allowance $19,751.75)
