Description
The Community Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, promoting and evaluating community programs, designed to enhance the quality of life and resiliency of all residents.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Hire, orientate, supervise, evaluate and provide leadership development to program instructors, speakers, and contactors.
  • Work with area not-for-profit organizations to support their viability through supportive programming, accessing City of Lloydminster grant funding, and meeting City of Lloydminster accountability requirements.
  • Organize community events including, but not limited to, Volunteer Appreciation and Seniors Day.
  • Investigate, initiate, monitor, and evaluate special projects to enhance community services.
  • Ensure that Outcome Measures are identified and reported in compliance with F.C.S.S. requirements, as well as within the City of Lloydminster strategic direction.
  • Research and apply for grant dollars that would enhance City of Lloydminster program services and submit appropriate reporting.
  • Act as the City of Lloydminster representative for various boards, groups and coalitions.
  • Prepare, submit and monitor appropriate budget revenues and expenditures.
  • Provide information and referral duties.
  • Maintain a database of community resources and services.
  • Recruit and oversee volunteer staff.
Requirements

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in a Human Service Related Field including: Social Sciences, Community Development, etc.
  • A minimum of three years previous experience in a community development and community engagement position.
  • The ability to develop relationships and support collaborative work through significant engagement with internal and community stakeholders.
  • Superior research, evaluation, outcomes and tracking skills. This involves utilizing sound methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills including listening, writing and speaking skills.
  • The ability to generate reports and administer grant applications.
  • Compassionate, empathetic and personal boundary skills are required for this position.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Vehicle Operator's License registered, in Alberta or Saskatchewan, with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.
  • An offer would be contingent upon receiving a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check prior to employment. 
Salary & Benefits

Band 6: $33.11 - $36.17 per hour
(Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)
