Post-secondary degree in Geography or related field with specialization in GIS and Geomatics or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience.

Progressively responsible and practical experience in GIS principals and use of ESRI’s GIS software and techniques for database development, web environments, databases, user requirements and/or spatial information management.

Knowledge of unstructured databases and big data solutions platforms with experience working with relational database systems (Oracle, SQL Server), spatial databases including standards, design and data modelling.

Knowledge of traditional data warehousing, extract-transformation-load (ETL) and On-line-Analytical Processing (OLAP) solutions.

Demonstrated extensive experience in project management, cost estimating, budget preparation and control.

Strong prioritizing, problem solving, negotiation, collaboration, organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to multi-task.

Strong verbal and written communication as well as report writing skills.

Proficient in the use of MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) as well as web technologies and cloud computing opportunities.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and to exercise judgement.

Excellent team effectiveness skills and the ability to work in concert with staff, contractors, consultants, the public, and other government agencies.

Valid Class “G” drivers licence in good standing and a reliable vehicle for travel to offsite meetings, facilities, parks, construction sites.

Available to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as required.
