Description
Reporting to the Manager, Facility Assets, the Capital Project Coordinator will participate as a member of a team in the delivery of a variety of Facility Capital Projects and major facility renovations.  You will be involved in all aspects of the project including analytical, economic analysis, detailed design/approvals, tendering, construction, and contract administration. Your main responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Influence the development of the project design by specifically addressing issues of constructability.  
  • Participate in the development/review of project RFP’s, tenders, budgets, designs, cash flows and preliminary schedules and liaise with vendors including follow-ups.
  • Provide direct input and assist in the preparation and assembly of complete tender packages and will be responsible for the supervision of onsite construction work including inspections and health and safety issues.
  • Respond to the project and site queries and ensure compliance with Town and Provincial Standards as well as resolve operational problems that arise.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation of all projects, verify project costs, and ensure that record drawings reflect as constructed conditions.
  • Collect as-build documents and operation maintenance documents, coordinate training and prepare standard operating procedures. 
Requirements
  • College diploma in engineering or architecture.
  • A minimum designation of Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is required.  
  • Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Professional Designation
  • A Certified Associate Project Manager (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred. 
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of project related experience in industrial, commercial and institutional facilities is required.  Your related experience includes inspection, contract administrative responsibilities, and liaising with the public, relative to construction activities. 
  • Competence with Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Microsoft Access and Excel is an asset. 
  • Team player with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Adept at working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledgeable of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. 
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a vehicle for corporate business is essential (mileage compensated).  The successful candidate will be asked to provide proof of insurance.
