The Economic Development Analyst reports to the Manager, Economic Development and main job functions include:
- Conduct research on best practices for economic sustainability and analyze economic trends;
- Produce statistical, sectoral and economic reports in support of the Division’s objectives;
- Undertake projects such as sector research, cluster studies and economic impact analysis;
- Design and maintain relevant economic databases;
- Promote economic development and sector development initiatives through physical and online mediums;
- Assist with a Business Visitation Program;
- Liaise with business organizations and associations to establish and cultivate client relationships.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual that can work well both independently and as part of a team. Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Business, Economics, Planning, Public Administration or related field;
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in economic development or related field;
- A Valid B.C. Driver’s License;
- Eligibility for certification as an Economic Developer (EcD) or equivalent.
- Have the ability to multi-task and work successfully under timelines and pressure;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access and Word.
- Strong research and analytical skills, organization and project management skills, strong customer service orientation, understanding of the land development process
