Transportation Services, Parks & Forestry Operations for an experienced and motivated individual

BUSINESS ANALYST

(Part-Time, up to 24 hours per week)

Responsible for providing business processes analysis, improvement and support in the department. This role coordinates and assists the Transportation Services, Parks & Forestry Operations management team in the analysis of established processes, identification of process improvement opportunities and implementation of process changes. Coordination and preparation of business plans, business cases, operating budgets, department forecasts; assists in establishing financial and business performance indicators and undertakes comparative analysis; monitors actual vs. budget performance, prepares reporting packages, and investigates variances; liaises and co­ordinates with City staff and external agencies on matters pertaining to the assigned projects; provides functional advice, guidance, and support on assigned projects and studies and assists the department perform business reviews to identify potential gaps and opportunities and aides in formulating possible solutions; develops adhoc system reports and sensitivity analysis, as required, and assists in the development of financial and operational policies/procedures and practices; conducts qualitative and quantitative research and maintains financial and statistical information; attends budget department meetings and assists in the preparation of reports, presentations, and any preliminary information required; participates on project teams as required; performs other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and experience:

 

  • < >< >< >, performance measures, budgeting, financial management, etc.< >< >< >research and problem solving skills.< >, and demonstrated ability in, the city's core competencies and relevant functional competencies.< >, including advanced knowledge in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications. Proficiency in PeopleSoft and Questica is an asset.

    A valid'G' driver's license in good standing with access to a reliable vehicle for corporate use.

     

    ***Please note, this position is temporary, the duration is approximately six months in length***
