Procurement Services Department for an experienced and motivated individual
PROJECT MANAGER
(FILE #16-2725-AM)

Responsible for planning, designing, organizing, executing, controlling and reporting on procurement related projects for the Procurement Services Department by applying project management methodologies and by providing analysis, design, evaluation, development and implementation of project plans and project activities. Leads cross-functional Service Excellent project teams and works closely and in collaboration with other departments and the Senior Management team.
Qualifications and experience:
- A University degree in related discipline, preferably Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or Finance or suitable equivalent.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute or equivalent.

Minimum of five years' of related work experience, preferably in a supply chain environment.

Project management experience in planning, coordinating, designing, executing, controlling and reporting complex, multidisciplinary projects in a municipal environment.

Experience in the planning, organization and implementation of procurement services projects.

Experience and/or certification in business process improvement and/or change management methodologies (such as Lean, ADKAR/Prosci) would be an asset.

Successful track record in leading effective project teams and developing collaborative internal and external business relationships.

Ability to deal effectively at all levels of the organization and with political representatives, consultants, contractors and the public, exercising excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to balance multiple priorities, often with conflicting timelines in a fast paced environment.

Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills.
-
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills; coupled with the ability to prioritize activities to successfully meet deadlines.
- Proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook and database software programs.
- Advanced knowledge/ application of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably JD Edwards.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated ability in, the City’s core competencies.
- Flexible to work outside regular business hours, as required.
