The Winnipeg Police Service is offering an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an experienced individual with exceptional communication skills, who also possesses extensive knowledge regarding trauma and critical incident stress. The Victim Services Social Worker provides support, information and referral to individuals, families and groups impacted by crime and tragedy within the City of Winnipeg.
Your education and experience includes:

Bachelor of Social Work
*NOTE: Applicants educated outside of Canada must have education which is comparable to the minimum qualification in Canada. Applicants submitting foreign credentials require an official academic assessment report issued by a recognized Canadian assessment service at application

Registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers having a Certificate of Practice

5 years of Social Work experience

Advanced Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Course – desirable asset
Conditions of Employment:
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Valid full Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Ability to meet and maintain the standards of a Winnipeg Police Service security check / background investigation and required police clearances

No involvement in any criminal activity within the last two years (including illegal drugs)

No criminal record for which a Pardon has not been granted
