The incumbent will take enquiries; explain rules, regulations and procedures within prescribed limits while dealing tactfully and effectively with the public and multi-cultural clients. Duties will include but not limited to receiving and processing applications for police certificates and permits, taxi, private investigations, and issuing certificates. Processing requests for criminal record searches for security clearance, employment and immigration purposes. You will also perform other job related duties as assigned.
Successful applicants will have completed Grade 12 supplemented by 2 years of related experience including knowledge of Provincial & Federal Statutes, Municipal By-Laws & police policies. Knowledge and experience with RCMP procedures and relevant police database systems including PRIME an asset. An equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered. An accurate typing speed of 45 wpm is required. You must be able to obtain and maintain the relevant level of security clearance throughout employment with the Surrey RCMP.
Hourly wage + 12% in lieu of vacation and benefits
