Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide internal Human Resources advisory services and assistance to managers, supervisors and employees (including some union).
- Initiate, develop, coordinate and track corporate training initiatives, participate and facilitate training in specific topics.
- Identify requirements and regulations affecting the human resources function and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. While remaining current in best practices, changes and standards.
- Provide advice and support to Managers and supervisors regarding ongoing performance management, including annual performance reviews, performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, terminations.
- Propose, administer and monitor the approved budgets for the Human Resources, Payroll and Safety functions.
Training and experience:
- Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of related HR experience.
- Specific experience in recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training, and development required.
- Understanding legislation applicable to Alberta public employers.
- Eligible for membership with a human resource association and possesses or be working towards the CHRP or equivalent designation.
