Recreation & Culture Department for an experienced and motivated individual

SENIOR TECHNICAL CLERK

FILE #15-2425-LL

Responsible for:

  • Providing administrative and clerical support to the Planning & Office Services Supervisor with the departmental project planning portfolio and associated task management functions;
  • Monitoring project life cycles, including identifying completion dates;
  • Assisting  with the part-time and seasonal staff hiring process including completion of electronic forms, populating data and associated support functions, and maintenance of payroll and hire spreadsheets;
  • Assisting with the research, analysis of information and report writing in the compilation of various reports/spreadsheets, Council and Committee items, statistics and memoranda and related policy and procedure manuals;
  • Assisting with all enquiries from internal departments and the general public, and directs enquiries to appropriate staff, including follow up, as required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Community College with a Business Administration Diploma (or suitable equivalent);
  • Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience, preferably in a public sector environment;
  • Must possess familiarity and knowledge of the Employment Standards Act
  • Highly proficient and advanced application in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and database applications, with exceptional and advanced use of Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables);
  • Access and Visio experience would be considered an asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and team player skills;
  • Proven time management and organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written;
  • Effective project management skills with the ability to multi-task.
