The Supervisor of Water and Waste Water is responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of the water and waste water division including DWQMS, water main breaks, water meter replacements, pump stations, sanitary sewer collection system, water distribution system, etc. Other responsibilities include overseeing the organization and completion of daily work activities of direct reports, conducting regular site visits in order to confirm the quality of work, ensuring that appropriate inventory levels and equipment are available, maintaining accurate employee and equipment records, providing emergency on-call response for after hours work activities, maintaining a safe work environment, and administering the terms and conditions of one collective agreement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to direct reports
- Monitor the completion of work orders
- Enforce divisional health and safety program
- Ensure compliance with water and waste water regulations
- Assume the role of Overall Responsible Operator as required
- Monitor divisional budget and execute business plans
- Receive, approve, and code divisional invoices
- Conduct on-site visits in order to confirm the quality of work
- Verify that external contractors have accurately completed agreed upon work
- Monitoring and ordering of inventory
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, standards, and Town policy and procedures
- Monitor and approve employee time sheets, sick time, banked time, vacation requests, and overtime
- Assist in the administration of the collective agreement
- Provide emergency on-call support for after hours coverage
- Monitor and coordinate staff training
- Assist in the preparation of Council reports, and attend Council meetings as required

Qualifications
- Three (3) year Community College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years previous related experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Class "G" drivers license
Qualifications Considered Assets
- Registered with The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists
- Water Distribution Certificate as regulated by the Ministry of the Environment, currently Class 1
- Wastewater Collection License as regulated by the Ministry of the Environment, currently Class 2
Rate of Pay: $80,557.38 - $90,615.32
