Leduc County, the rural/urban municipality south of Edmonton is offering a challenging opportunity to a proven leader to provide oversight and management in the growth and sustainability strategies of our growing, diverse municipality.

The GENERAL MANAGER, INTEGRATED GROWTH& SUSTAINABILITY works in consultation with the County Manager and Senior Management Team to achieve financial and organizational sustainability by providing leadership and oversight to the organization’s overall resource management, evaluating opportunities for income generation,  stimulating economic growth by identifying economic, market and customer issues and promoting innovative business models, commercial partnerships and agreements to meet strategic priorities and ensuring customer service levels are aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in a relevant field (Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting) and ten (10) years experience in a management level of responsibility, with at least five (5) years in financial management is required.  The proven ability to lead, design, implement and maintain business improvement activities along with political awareness is required. Experience in strategic management, financial planning, staff/project supervision and excellent communication skills (oral and written) are required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary team are required. Familiarity with County structure, operations, and knowledge of rural communities is an asset. Membership in the Society of Local Government Managers and/or the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is an asset.
