Description
Under the authority of Municipal Council and in accordance with its priorities, the General Director and Secretary-Treasurer, in collaboration with the Director of Planning and Environment and the Director of public works, plans, organizes, directs and controls the human resources, financial and material resources of the Municipality, in accordance with the Municipal Code and any other law.

Specific responsibilities are the following:

  • Work and collaborate with municipal officials to achieve objectives;
  • Organize, attend and follow-up of Council sittings;
  • Prepare, monitor and manage the municipal budget;
  • Manage physical assets;
  • See to the accounting: accounts payable, bank reconciliation, payroll, etc.
  • Coordinate the management of municipal contracts;
  • Manage financial assistance programs and accountabilities;
  • Act as coordinator of the emergency action plan;
  • Ensure the management of human resources, including recruitment activities, labor relations and evaluation of employee contribution, in collaboration with the union.
  • During Municipal Elections, act as the Returning Officer.
  • Responsible for the application of the access to information Act.
  • Ensure communication between the Municipal Council and other Municipal Officials.
Requirements
  • University degree or a combination of education and experience;
  • Have two to five years of relevant experience in municipal management;
  • Be fluent in French and English;
  • Know and use common software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Explorer);
  • Knowledge of the PG Solutions software is an asset;
  • Have a valid driver's license.
