Description
Under the direction of the Director, IT the Network & Telecommunications Coordinator is responsible to coordinate services for Network and Telecommunications and oversee the efficient operation of the Town’s IT infrastructure; coordinates all components of the voice/data networks; leads the Network and Telecommunications staff; monitors, diagnoses and resolves network and hardware problems; manages network projects and provides escalated support services to Town staff including training as required.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree in computer sciences with a specialization in voice and data networking or equivalent and progressive experience in a similar environment with various software products and similar technologies.
• Certifications in specializations such as ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), systems security professional, systems engineer, systems architect, network systems administration/professional are desired.
• Progressive demonstrated experience in the information technology field developing and maintaining an organization’s voice, data and security communication infrastructure in wide area, local area network and WiFi configurations.
• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise level voice and data (VOIP) infrastructure including security, switching/routing, wireless LANS, storage area networks, enterprise backup systems, enterprise antivirus solutions, window servers, Unix operating systems, and virtual server environments, (VMWare).
• Demonstrated experience with communications infrastructure and call centre technology including managing all related hardware and software, programming features, monitoring systems, and voice messaging systems.
• Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP, Networking, firewalls, and VPN technology.
• Demonstrated experience supervising a team of technical professionals and working knowledge of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and management.
• Comprehensive project management skills including developing, leading, monitoring and completing projects on time and within budget.
• Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining vendor contracts and liaising with vendors on technical issues including trouble-shooting, diagnostics, upgrades, emerging technologies for both the telephone equipment and related communications network.
• Proven analytical, interpretive and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated organization, customer service, interpersonal, and problem/complaint resolution skills suited to a highly technological environment.
• Fully proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
• Knowledge of applicable legislation, bylaws, and the ability to interpret legislation such as Access Ontario Disabilities Act (AODA), Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act and administrative bylaws.
• Class “G” driver’s license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
• Due to the responsibilities of this position a police information check satisfactory to the Town is required. Professional designations that include a police information check will be considered.
• Availability to work scheduled or unscheduled overtime during predetermined scheduled down time, and on an on-call basis.

Salary & Benefits

Salary Range: $80,154 - $100,192 / year
