The Recreation Infrastructure Branch of our Recreation and Parks Department is seeking to fill the position of Aquatics Infrastructure Coordinator. The City of St. Albert operates two year round indoor complexes; Fountain Park Recreation Centre and the Landrex Water Play Centre at Servus Place and two seasonal outdoor facilities; Grosvenor Park Outdoor Swimming Pool and Red Willow Water Play Park.

As the Aquatics Infrastructure Coordinator you will work under the direction of the Manager of Recreation Infrastructure to ensure the operation of the facilities are performed with a high regard for the safety of the users, the public and the staff.  You will be responsible for ensuring the aquatic facilities’ infrastructure is maintained, with a primary focus on asset planning for the buildings and their equipment. You will be involved in preventative and routine maintenance and the management and implementation of the facility life cycle plans. You are responsible for the annual major maintenance programs (shutdowns) for the indoor complexes and seasonal opening and closing of the outdoor facilities.
In consultation with your Manager, you are also responsible for financial management related to the infrastructure and maintenance of the aquatic facilities, including maintaining and negotiating contracts.
You will provide leadership and direction for a small team of Aquatic Service Technicians and supervises the work of contractors as required.

COMPENSATION

$70,660 - $85,967 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive flexible benefit package.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

High School plus up to two years of post secondary education, including a trade certificate in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC or Building Operator, or equivalent experience in pool infrastructure.

Strong leadership skills and supervisory experience.

Experience in project management.

Facility operations and maintenance experience in addition to working knowledge of building systems that includes HVAC equipment, building control systems, pool equipment, fire alarm and boiler systems is an asset.

First Aid certification is preferred.

You must be a strong verbal and written communicator.

Candidates should be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, Work Management and Preventative Maintenance software.

A valid Class 5 drivers license is required.

Membership with BOMA or ASET would be an asset.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a clear vulnerable sector police information check.

HOURS OF WORK

This position will have a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly. This position will require flexibility to accommodate day, evening and weekend shifts.
