The City of St. Albert is seeking a dynamic HR professional to take on a new position within our Human Resources department as HR Strategic Solutions Manager. As the Manager, you will lead initiatives pertaining to organizational transformation, organizational design and talent management. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will champion our business partner philosophy and lead a team of five staff in the delivery of a broad range of strategic HR solutions to support the whole organization.

Some key areas of focus will be: assisting the Director of HR with the design and maintenance of the methodology for job creation and evaluation, leading the review of organizational design and assisting client departments with recommendations for effective workforce planning.

You will provide guidance to the organization, and support the HR Business Partner team, on issues related to labour relations, talent management, total rewards, and performance management.

The ideal candidate will bring a thorough knowledge of HR functions, sound judgment, and creativity to develop and execute strategies that help the City achieve its business goals. You have proven experience leading HR strategy and transformation within a complex organization. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills, combined with your ability to influence, will enable you to build trusted relationships with your team and at all levels throughout the organization.
 

Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in human resources, labour relations or a related field. An advanced degree in a related field is preferable.
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience, with knowledge and experience in the areas of organizational design and development,  labour and employee relations, and performance management.
  • A proven track record of success in strategic human resources leadership and talent management initiatives.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to build relationships and engage with individuals across our organization.
  • Strong people skills and operational management capabilities combined with excellent planning and financial management skills.
Salary & Benefits

HOURS OF WORK
We offer a compressed schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off every two weeks).

COMPENSATION
$103,110 - $125,448 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package including a defined benefit pension plan.
