Office of the City Manager for an experienced and motivated individual
ADMINISTRATIVE & PROJECT ASSISTANT
CONTRACT – APPROX 12 MONTHS

Responsible for:
Responsible for providing administrative support services to the Executive Director, Office of the City Manager. Drafts and assists in the preparation of correspondence, project plans and reports to Council Committees. Researches material, compiles statistics and summaries, and produces detailed informational reports. Provides minute taking and filing services throughout the office. Prioritizes workflow and assists with special projects. Coordinates appointments, meetings, etc. Responds to enquiries/complaints and monitors action items to ensure timely resolution and conclusion.
Qualifications and experience:
- Community College Diploma (2 year program) in Business Administration, General Business, Office Administration or suitable equivalent;
- Minimum of three (3) years senior administrative experience, preferably in a municipal environment;
- Proficient knowledge of various PC applications such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and proven working experience with scheduling electronic Outlook meetings;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills;
- Must have strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, coordinate activities, people and documentation in a fast-paced environment while being meticulous with challenging deadlines;
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and staff and exercise utmost discretion, tact, and professionalism when dealing with confidential or sensitive material;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities with flexibility and professionalism;
- May be required to work irregular hours on short notice.
