Renewal Office Engineering Coordinator

Term ending March 31, 2017

$42.20 to $45.65/hour

 

As High River continues to grow and renew after the 2013 Alberta Flood, we are expanding our team of professionals.  As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to enhance the well-being of the community and work on important projects that are helping to shape the future of the town - a vibrant and thriving community that offers an inclusive social environment and locally-owned dynamic businesses.  The Engineering Coordinator position is a term position ending March 31, 2017, and is eligible for the Town of High River's attractive benefit package.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who will project manage capital projects to repair the Towns infrastructure, including roads, water, sewer and facilities, for a term. The incumbent will provide support to the Manager of Operations, as part of a team that will support reconstruction of damaged town infrastructure resulting from the 2013 floods. This position requires broad knowledge and understanding of typical municipal operations in order to provide oversight and support to renewal projects including engineering, infrastructure, parks, community facilities as well as public service amenities. 

To prepare for this position, you have completed post-secondary education in Engineering with a P. Eng designation from APEGGA and 4 years related experience or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma with 6 years related experience or Project Management Professional Certification with 6 years related experience.  Your demonstrated strategic approach, analytical thinking, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills will ensure your success in this position.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • P. Eng. Designation from APEGGA with 4 years experience related, or CET with 6 years related experience
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS
  • Good understanding of contract law, project management, and municipal construction
  • Effective written, oral, listening and research skills
