Reports to the Senior Manager, Compliance and Business Supports. Responsible for developing comprehensive systems of practices and procedures primarily focusing on the areas of risk management and compliance including developing monitoring systems, tools, templates, job aids and training.
Helps to ensure program accountability of Ontario Works through recruitment, training, coaching and all other aspects of performance management of their staff as well as the management of any assigned purchase of service contracts.
Work Performed
Liaises with internal and external clients, organizations, and government ministries to make sure that the highest quality services are delivered effectively and efficiently
Maintains expertise, and ensure staff proficiency and compliance, in required areas of provincial legislation, directives, municipal policies and local procedures. .
Supervises assigned staff and managers. Provides coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Recommends on hiring, promotions, demotions, transfers, salary adjustments and staff discipline.
Recommends policies and procedures, assist with the implementation of approved policies and procedures and develop a system to ensure compliance.
Maintains communications and relationships with community and government agencies.
Develops and recommends budgets, monitors expenditures monthly and provides reports as required.
Maintains awareness of pertinent legislation.
Develops and conducts staff training.
Develops and maintains a management information system on program sectors.
Performs related duties as assigned.
University Degree in Business or Public Administration or other related discipline.
Specialized Training And Licenses:
Skills and abilities in the following areas are an asset:
Proven leadership abilities, demonstrating capacity to support staff and services in a dynamic work environment
Strong technical skills, especially in organization and computer literacy
Minimum 5 years compliance and audit experience working within a regulatory framework
Experience in the social services sector, and/or thorough knowledge of the Ontario Works Act and Directives would be an asset
$75,761 - $102,154
