Description
The Winnipeg Police Service is offering an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills as the Supervisor of Quartermaster Stores. Working closely with the Manager of Finance, the right candidate must be adept at developing policies and procedures to ensure proper inventory management and determining all short and long term goals for the Stores Unit.

As the Supervisor of Quartermaster Stores, some of your duties will include:

  • Developing Bid Opportunities to establish acquisition of goods and services for direct open market purchases
  • Managing and coordinating all activities related to the inventory process
  • Supervising Quartermaster Stores personnel
  • Responsible for the financial accountability of the Unit and other duties
  • Responsible for the oversight of the asset management for the Winnipeg Police Service
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Your experience includes:

  • Grade 12 diploma, GED Certificate, or equivalent
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Certificate
  • OR Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) Certificate in Purchasing
  • OR Industrial Supervision Certificate and 24 months’ demonstrated experience in contract administration, contract preparation, bid analysis and tender / quotation preparation
  • 24 months’ prior related work experience, including supervisory experience
  • Human Resource Management Certificate / training or equivalent demonstrated experience

 

Requirements include:

  • 18 years of age
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Valid full Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to meet and maintain the standards of a Winnipeg Police Service security check / background investigation and required police clearances
  • No involvement in any criminal activity within the last two years (including illegal drugs)
  • No criminal record for which a Pardon has not been granted
