FACILITIES SUPERVISOR

Responsible for:
Supervising the operation of City of Vaughan recreation facilities, including the scheduling and training of staff, preparation of work plans, overseeing the minor maintenance and repairs of facilities by both staff and contractors, preparation of annual operating budgets, report preparation, associated customer services functions, including responding to enquiries from the general public, and user groups.
Community College Diploma in Recreation Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology. Minimum of five (5) years’ related municipal experience including a minimum of three (3) years at a supervisory level, preferably in a unionized environment. Current Technical Standards Safety Authority (TSSA) Refrigeration Operator B Class or equivalent certification or designation from a recognized industry organization, institute or association such as, Building Environmental Systems (BES), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA), Certified Recreation Facilities Professional (CRFP), Registered Recreation Facilities Supervisor (RRFS), Registered Recreation Facilities Manager (RRFM), Registered Recreation Facilities Administrator (RRFA) or Facilities Management Professional (FMP). Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or suitable equivalent. Thorough working knowledge of recreational facilities construction, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and maintenance management including arenas, pools, community centres, and appropriate legislation pertaining to same. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and written/oral communication skills. Proficiency in the use of computers for Building Automation Systems, Word, Excel and Outlook. Availability to work flexible hours/overtime and respond to "after hours" emergencies as required. Valid Class "G" Driver License and reliable vehicle for corporate business.
