PART TIME ANIMAL SERVICES SHELTER ATTENDANT

2 POSITIONS

Responsible for:

Performing a variety of duties associated with the care and maintenance of the Animal Shelter including and not limited to caring for the animals in a humane manner by providing fresh food and clean water, maintain safe, clean and sanitary conditions at the Shelter, and other care and duties as required or directed.

Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma graduate. Previous animal care and cleaning experience through employment or volunteer opportunities in an animal related facility. Previous experience handling feral, aggressive and under socialized animals. Basic knowledge and understanding of both breeds cats and dogs. Must be comfortable handling all breed types (including pit bulls). Ability to restrain both cats and dogs and comfortably lift 120 pounds. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A team player with strong interpersonal skills. Successful completion of a criminal background investigation.  Ability to work rotating schedules, including evenings and weekends.
