Policy Planning Department for an experienced and motivated individual

SENIOR PLANNER

2 YEAR CONTRACT

(FILE 14-2116-GL)

Responsible for:

The co-ordination and supervision of planning projects for long-range land use and urban design policy, secondary plans and special studies, etc. Conducting research and analysis, and developing review policies and procedures.  You will be responsible for initiating and managing special projects and technical studies, report writing, responding to inquiries and liaison duties, etc.; and for supervision of assigned staff.

Requirements
  • University Degree in Planning or suitable equivalent
  • Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and Ontario Professional Planners Institute, and designated as a Registered Professional Planner (RPP)
  • Minimum of five (5) years progressively more responsible municipal planning experience, including a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
