The City of St. Albert is seeking an experienced, innovative and highly motivated individual to assume the position of Manager of Operations in our Public Works Department.
Are you are a strategic thinker and problem solver with sound judgment, and the ability to inspire others? Do your interpersonal, communication and influencing skills enable you to build trusted relationships with your team and at all levels throughout the organization?

Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Manager of Operations will be responsible for the short and long term sustainable operational practices for the Operations branch of Public Works, including Transportation, Parks, Trees and Arenas. This position will manage approximately 66 permanent staff members, maintain operating and capital budgets, and ensure compliance with all legislation.

Requirements
  • Post secondary education in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Level 3 Public Works Supervisor Certification would be an asset
  • Candidates should have extensive experience in operation and maintenance of public works infrastructure, budget, and policy development.
  • Experience in construction, project management, and risk management are definite assets.
  • The successful candidate should have strong computer skills including MS Office, GIS, AVL and an Operations Management software (Hansen).
  • Excellent supervisory skills with a thorough working knowledge of all applicable codes, acts and legislation both from an OH&S and Environmental perspective.
Salary & Benefits

SALARY RANGE
$91,791 - $111,677 per annum. In addition the City of St. Albert offers a comprehensive benefit package.

HOURS OF WORK
We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off every two weeks).
