EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES BRANCH

Location: East Gwillimbury, Ontario. This is a Union position.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: As Required and Varied

Casual/On-Call, Salary $24.61 - $26.75 per hour

 

Reporting to the Commander/Program Manager – EMS Supplies and Equipment, and under the guidance  of the Team Lead EMS Logistics Technician, is responsible for providing 24-hour logistic support, along with the procurement of materials for the Logistics Division of EMS; providing customer services, completing make ready processes for vehicles and equipment, control of inventory levels and use of computerized inventory and asset control systems; delivering, stocking and conducting preventative maintenance programs for specific medical equipment; repairing/maintaining/inspecting EMS equipment such as oxygen regulators, suction and stretcher equipment, etc; and providing minor repair to vehicles, facilities and property (i.e. cot-light bulb replacement, calibration/adjustment to equipment, etc.)

Requirements
  • Successful completion of Secondary School Graduation Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in light mechanical, repair and equipment maintenance.
  • Experience in materials management, including experience with purchasing, warehousing and related functions, preferably obtained in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience in computerized material management systems, including software applications for inventory management and/or procurement systems.
  • Experience in all aspects of supply management theory, including procurement and inventory management.
  • Experience in process control practices focused on quality production.
  • Knowledge of industry related Provincial Acts and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to successfully complete training in M5 inventory and asset management programs.
  • Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to successfully complete MOH-LTC Oxygen and Suction preventative maintenance and inspection program.
  • Ability to successfully complete a variety of stretcher and conveyance equipment preventative maintenance and repair training.
  • Must be physically capable of handling, carrying, loading and unloading heavy supplies and equipment
  • Ability to work outside regular business hours, including rotating shift work that includes days, nights and weekends and emergency situations, as required.
Salary & Benefits

$24.61 - $26.75 per hour
