Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Deputy Clerk; process FOI requests for information in accordance with the legislation and corporate policies; produces annual report for the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and assists the Clerk and Deputy Clerk with other reporting as needed. Assists the Clerk Services team in the audit of existing record keeping operations to ensure compliance with the provisions of MFIPPA and ensure that the Corporate File Classification System is used in accordance with MFIPPA.

Responsible for developing and managing the Town’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) programme or other applicable legislation.  This includes examination of existing services and programmes for AODA compliance, education of staff on relevant disability barriers that potentially could be encountered in providing services to the Public.  Provide information and assistance to staff in their pursuit and commitment to comply with all legislative requirements of the AODA.

 

Requirements

You will bring with you a post-secondary degree or diploma in a Public Administration, Law, Records Management or equivalent with a minimum of two to four year’s municipal government experience or equivalent.  Demonstrated experience in accessibility, equity and human rights work accompanies by experience in handling accessibility/accommodation and equity issues.  Knowledge of the Ontarians with Disabilities 2001 and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities 2005 and related legislation.  Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills, computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications and familiarity with document management systems (EDMS) an asset.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $24.69 to $29.99 per hour @24 h/w depending upon experience.
