Description
Reporting to Parks and Civic Facilities Manager, the Energy Management Coordinator is accountable for managing energy use and developing energy efficiency and conservation within the facilities and trades, and water and sewer utilities divisions and in cooperation with BC Hydro. The Energy Management Coordinator establishes an energy management program that identifies energy savings opportunities, directs operational changes and implements cost-effective capital projects.  This position is required to prepare regular Project Status Reports to BC Hydro and the City of Kamloops.

The Energy Management Coordinator is responsible for developing a Sustainable Energy Management Program, including gathering energy management-related information and analyzing it to identify opportunities and priorities.  Once the program is developed, the incumbent is responsible for building the program, implementing it and maintaining it.

Requirements

The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Engineer or Registered Engineering Technologist or Certified Energy Manager;
  • Minimum five years experience in industrial process and in the operation, maintenance and management of electrical and lighting systems or mechanical systems;
  • Previous supervisory experience;
  • Knowledge of energy efficient technologies and program development;
  • Demonstrated experience writing details reports and performing financial/statistical analysis;
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; and
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
