- Process and evaluate the full range of development applications for all types of land uses and prepare associated reports and recommendations to Planning Committee/Committee of Adjustment and Council;
- Advise individuals and organized bodies on planning matters;
- Provide expert testimony at OMB hearings;
- Represent the Planning & Development Department before Committees;
- Direct the work of others in carrying out these duties and assist in general planning administration;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Competencies
- Degree in Planning or related field plus a minimum of 3-4 years of directly relevant experience in a development approvals planning position processing various types of development applications;
- Membership in or eligibility for full membership in OPPI required;
- Extensive knowledge and experience with planning procedures and processes, the Planning Act and Provincial Policy Statement;
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software required;
- Must possess and maintain a valid class “G” license with the ability to provide own vehicle;
- Must demonstrate corporate competencies: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.
